Sweet, simple, repetitive and profound. Contains insights about trees, connectedness with nature, and the inner strength and resilience it takes to get through both ordinary and difficult situations. I picked this book up because the illustrations are truly stunning. The pops of hot pink in the illustrations really stand out and seem to illuminate the pictures. The text is a poem using the symbolism of a tree and what the tree in each of us offers to the world. There isn't a great deal of text on each page, making this a fairly quick read. The poem is a bit confusing and might not appeal to a younger audience. I wanted to enjoy the book several times just because of the interesting illustrations. This book talks about how each person is a tree, with roots, fruit, a sky, and more. This is a picture book with minimal words, leaving little room for characters and a plot. I enjoyed this book because it uses symbolism, which can be used in older elementary classrooms to explain what the symbols are and why they were used, but it can also be used in a younger elementary classroom for students who are learning to read. This book would be good in a primary classroom because it has vibrant and defining colors, which would help keep the students' focus on the book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
