Scarlett is a beautifully complex 12 year old. A perfect portrait of what adolescence is all about. A child trapped in a body that's speeding towards adulthood. My one complaint was the appearance of Scarlett's mother at the end, that seemed far too sweet to be believable.
Loved this books shows all about Scarlett’s family problems and troubles though the Scarlett’s mother was acting a little bit too nice and sweet and its was kind of a predictable ending though still a good read
After being expelled from yet another school in London, twelve-year-old Scarlett is sent by her exasperated mother to live with her father, stepmother, and stepsister in Ireland, where, with the help of a mysterious boy, she eventually overcomes her anger and resentment and feels part of a family again. I wouldn't mind recommending this to kids for a paperback buy/library read, but it's definitely junk food for the brain. ( )
