WadeHere are some things I wish someone would have told me a few months ago:1. Putting together an Ikea desk does not make someone qualified to help with home renovations2. It's impossible to un-teach a five-year-old the word 'dildo'3. Two straight guys messing around with each other is not as uncommon as people might think, so don't freak outOf course, I freaked out…Moving back to Staten Island after my divorce was the simple choice, and hiring a contractor to help make my new place somewhat liveable was an even simpler one.But I wasn't expecting the contractor to be Brendan Kelly, an old high school buddy I'd lost contact with over the years. And I definitely wasn't expecting what happened next…Pay attention, folks--we're here to revolutionize the bromance!Warning: this book is not appropriate for anyone who doesn't like laughing, anyone who doesn't like environmentally-conscious five-year-olds, and anyone who doesn't like hot single dads and sexy contractors rekindling a friendship in an unexpectedly steamy manner.*Happily Ever After included. So they've both been through the relationship mill, and both are quite open and analytical when it comes to sex, attraction, and they know what love is when they finally realise they are in the middle of it.
That's the journey in the book, how they both come to see that they are bi-sexual, not that they ever put a label on it, and that they love each other. A distinction is made that they are not attracted to men, only to each other, but we are only told that they are somewhere on the rainbow spectrum - so I did wonder if there was a label for that type of attraction/relationship.
Not to make it sound too serious - because it is a lighhearted novel - but the emotional and physical journey Wade and B go on is interesting - and their openness to this change is captivating and admirable. It's a sweet, charming, happy-go-lucky book and ...
I'll look out for future Isla Olsen novels. I've seen her name often enough but for some reason haven't downloaded one till now.
There's 10 siblings in Brendan Kelly's family, so I imagine that the other books in the Love & Luck series delve into their lives. We get small updates on several of the brothers - Shay, Owen and others - here so I must go back and start at #1 in the series. ( )
