Der Autor beschreibt einen Tag Anfang der 1950er Jahre in einer bayerischen Stadt mit amerikanischer Besatzung, vermutlich München. Verschiedene Personen begegnen einem während des Tages. Man liest ihren Bewusstseinsstrom, ähnlich wie bei Joyce. Interessant finde ich vor allem den unglaublichen Rassismus, so wenige Jahre nach Kriegsende. Sehr richtig wird reflektiert, dass auch die Ausschreitungen der Nazis wie jene hier mit Scherben begonnen und geendet hatten. Insgesamt fand ich das Buch nicht einfach zu lesen. Ich lese viel und auch schwere Kost, habe ja auch Germanistik studiert, aber ich tue mich zunehmend mit der deutschen Literatur schwer. Das „siebte Kreuz“ fiel mir auch sehr schwer. ( )
einen Stern dafür, dass ich mich noch daran erinnern kann, wie ich mich im Urlaub damit gequält habe dieses Buch geschweige denn die ersten Seiten durchzulesen. Es war ein reinster Kampf. Danke Zentralabitur NRW ! ( )

Insgesamt fand ich das Buch nicht einfach zu lesen. Ich lese viel und auch schwere Kost, habe ja auch Germanistik studiert, aber ich tue mich zunehmend mit der deutschen Literatur schwer. Das „siebte Kreuz“ fiel mir auch sehr schwer. (
