Tony, Hugh and Karen killed a man 30 years ago and are now going back to find his body. To give the family peace part of a goodwill gesture to score points.
They are all from Northern Ireland and were involved in the Troubles they were all based in Scotland they killed a known associate called Martin Kelly as they thought he was a Grass.
They were planning to kill a RUC officer hiding in Scotland, Tony was a Teacher and knew the mans daughter so told him what was planned and he got away. Kelly got the blame as Karen didnt trust him and he was a Drug dealer.
This book jumps between now and 30 years ago.
Karen is a successful Estate agent with a Husband and 2 sons
Hugh is an old IRA war horse who is dying of Cancer
Tony is at a bit of a loss all alone after his Wife died.
Tony still has feelings for Karen
On the way back on the Ferry to Ireland Tony dies (I think that's what happens)
Good but very sad book. (
