Much too realistic portrayals of the cop life as well as corporate greed to destroy the environment.
Cabrelli was a good cop. Until he wasn't. Mired in legal and department issues was nothing compared to how he castigated himself for the mistakes he made that led to the death of a young girl.
Not long after his friends helped him out of the sea of despair, he finds that his fondly remembered uncle has died and left him his cottage "Up North" near Duluth and Lake Superior. And then everything really goes to compost. Ecological disaster looms in the form of dishonest corporations that could mean the end of everything the area stands for. (
