A grandfather and his grandsons are heading home from the fields. The youngest of the brothers likes to sit up front with his grandfather. He likes their alone time and the stories he sometimes tells. One day the young boy sees people swimming in the family pond. The grandfather harshly tells him "to ignore it, you haven't seen anything". Of course, the child doesn't heed the warning...

The author paints a good picture of a rural farming family. That part of the story is actually more prominent in my mind than the fairy pond and the things that happen.

FYI: This is not a m/m or LGBTQ story. The author writes stories in those genres, so it is an assumption made by many readers, in error. ( )

Anymore who enjoys folklore will love this short. Mr. Black painted a vivid picture of tough family life at the time. Very well written with a good ending. ( )
