For the first day of school, animals and new students have jitters and scary feelings. I had yet to see a book that tackled different fears around the first day of school (leaving a parent, anxiety, struggles to see the board, etc.) until this book. It is a definitely a must read for a new student. Only thing that holds me back from using it in a storytime (think my My First Book kiddos!!) is that it is LONG and rather wordy and I don't know if it is feasible to leave pages out. The first day of school can be both exciting and scary for everyone even the teachers. Join the “Critters” as they face their “Jitters” about the first day of school. This book is a great read aloud for the first week of preschool or kindergarten. The author explores many of the feelings that children have in the first few weeks of school in a fun lighthearted story. The story is also told in a series of word bubbles which exposes children to a different type of writing. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"It's almost the first day of school, and the animals are nervous. Sloth worries about getting there on time, snake can't seem to get his backpack fastened onto his body, and bunny is afraid she'll want to hop around instead of sitting still. When they all arrive at their classroom, though, they're in for a surprise: Somebody else is nervous too. It's their teacher, the armadillo! He has rolled in as a ball, and it takes him a while to relax and unfurl. But by the next day, the animals have all figured out how to help one another through their jitters. School isn't so scary after all"--FantasticFiction.com. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
