Note: I received a digital review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Recommended Ages: Gr. 5-7 (appropriate for a 4th who likes narrative non-fiction) Plot Summary: Setting: starts in America during colonization The major takeaways of this book are that: -there were a lot of women involved in the women's rights movement -it lasted a very, very long time -some of the women fighting for their right to vote were racist and believed white women should have the right to vote before Black men -we hear about Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton the most often because they recorded the history of the movement as it was happening, used their own money to get it published Recurring Themes: racism, women's rights, civil rights, standing up for what you believe, Controversial Issues: Some of the women in the movement lived with a same-sex partner. Personal Thoughts: There is a lot of information packed into this book. The list of names seems to go on forever! It was honestly hard to keep track of everyone. Genre: historical narrative non-fiction Pacing: medium-slow, too much information Characters: too many names to keep track of Frame: Storyline: Activity: Note: Naomi Talbert Anderson on page 64 sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
