The packaging for RED MENACE is somewhat strange. The two volumes could have easily been put into one, which would have helped the slow start of the first volume. This slow start was not Brubaker's fault, but the fault of marketing. There were only three issues in that volume, just enough to start the plot, and then an unrelated special issue. We should have gone directly into this volume.

That being said, it is worth the money and patience to get through both. Volume 2 jumps head first into the action, bringing Cap closer and closer to an epic battle against Crossbones, Sin, General Lukin, and Red Skull. That battle will also ally him with Bucky for the first time since World War II. ( )
