A tale of the construction of the Parthenon, throwing in a good deal of history and culture. Athenians kept ferrets in order to keep down the mice, evidently. The illustrations are detailed and interesting, but a little odd; why is that one soldier wearing a greave on only one leg? There are also photographs, of the remaining bits of the Parthenon. The best illustrations are of the building of the Parthenon, pulleys and block everywhere. ( )
