?????????? "Half way through I was waiting for Harrison Ford to leap out of the pages!" ??Deanne, Review for 'The Coelho Medallion'

The third Dan Kotler archaeological thriller!
As new technology, based on forbidden historic research, emerges, it quickly turns from hope for millions to a potential threat to billions.
Famed rock-star-turned-philanthropist, Ashton Mink, is murdered in his Manhattan high-rise apartment, leaving behind the words "Devil's Interval" as the only clue to the killer's identify or motives.
Dan Kotler, archeologist and consultant with the FBI's new Historic Crimes Division, and Agent Roland Denzel, of the FBI, are called to the scene of Mink's murder, and asked to help in the investigation. What they discover is a secret project, based on the research of historic figures such as Sir Isaac Newton, that could alter the course of history and enslave humanity.
Devil's Interval is a technology so dangerous it was buried twice, only to return and endanger humanity again.
With the assistance of New York Police Detective, Peter Holden, Kotler and Denzel embark on another adventure, racing against the clock to solve Mink's murder, recover stolen technology, and prevent an act of terrorism against all of humanity.

The Devil's Interval
(Dan Kotler #3)
by Kevin Tumlinson
This is a bit different from the other two books. It wasn't really an archeological dig or item. This was about mind control through a device made to help people. As corny as it sounds as I write this, it really was pretty good. Our hero gets kidnapped again!
This book was unpredictable, not like the last book. Action packed, suspenseful, and quite the thriller! ( )

How much do you value your freedom? That is what is at stake for the world in this third novel in the series..

It begins with a wealthy retired rock star using his resources to find a better way of combatting deafness. From that worthy objective comes the possibility of a dreadful weapon. Theft, murder, kidnapping, treachery, fist-fights and gun-fights ensue as archaeologist Dan Kotler and his FBI friend and colleague Roland Denzel race to use their unique mix of skills to prevent disaster.

The two main characters continue to grow and develop, and I do recommend reading this series in order to appreciate this and to see the ongoing effects of past events. Neither man is a superman or infallible, and In this book both protagonists (at different times) suffer crises of confidence in their suitability for the work that they have fallen into. It is interesting to see how each is handled.

This is an enjoyable series - as witness, the fact that I am currently re-reading the whole series prior to starting the latest offering, book 9, “The Hidden Persuaders”. ( )
