Fiction. Romance. Suspense. Thriller. HTML:New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose returns with a new thriller in her chilling Cincinnati series.

Michael Rowland is not your typical teenager. Deaf from birth, hes always looked out for his five-year-old brother, Joshua. When his stepfather comes after Joshua, Michael takes the child and runs. Hes determined to protect his brother at all costs, even if that means making himself vulnerable to a danger he cant hear coming. And the danger intensifies when Michael witnesses a stranger kill his stepfather.

Desperate and afraid, the boys have nowhere else to go but to Joshuas soccer coach, journalist and ex-Army ranger Diesel Kennedy. When Diesel sees that Michael is injured, he takes them to see Dr. Dani Novaknot only because shes fluent in American Sign Language, but because hes drawn to her and everything she stands for. She never refuses Diesels requestsbecause she, too, feels their connectionbut she resists him for reasons she doesnt want to confess.

When Dani and Diesel learn that Michael saw the face of his stepfathers killer, they fear for his safety. But they quickly discover that its even worse than they feared: They may have a serial killer on their handsand all signs point to Michael as the next target.

[A] pedal-to-the-metal thriller with plenty of developed charactersand converging mysteries. . . . To call this book a page-turneris an understatement.USA Today on Say You're Sorry

At one point of time, I was a huge fan of the Karen Rose romantic suspense series. I guess somehow even though there were some gory scenarios and victims, I used to like the style and Karen Rose's series.
I don't know which one but one of the books really turned me off. Then I realized that all of her books have the victim having some horrible absolutely gory and disgusting form of child abuse. For a while i went off her books.
After a long time tried this one. It is really bad. practically everyone is a pervert and a pedo. The central child character has been horribly abused, the hero horribly abused as a child. and so on..

Keeping aside the abuse, i would look for some realy who dunit kind of reveal. Didn't happen. From the start one of the characters is the killer and he gives us all his background so there is no confusion.

OK. So in a romantic suspense, I would look for a really good theme, so not there. Really good suspense , not there and finally some hot romance. Great chemistry , a really good build up of romance. Nope. Hero has been in love with her forever. From some previous book in the 23 part series. Heroine has already been interested in him. Now its only a question of when they admit it and commit to each other.

All in all, i would definitely say give this one a miss. Not worth the time it takes to read it.

This time hopefully I will stay off this series for a really long time
