The main character reminds me very much of Aru Shah, she's a plucky heroine ready to save the world for those she loves. I like that there's not a clear right and wrong, Anya has to make some difficult choices along the way. She has to lie to nearly everyone she meets, and when her wife's on the line she has to figure out what the truth is. Set in a fantasy version of 10th century Russia. Anya talks about working toward her bat-mitzvah (even though the bat-mitzvah is only 100 years old). Her family is the only Jewish family in the village. Her faith does not have any objections to magic. Her family faces prejudice and mistreatment. Ivan is really sweet. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

When a dragonslayer moves to the village, Anya becomes his assistant to help capture a dragon for the tsar. Her reward if they find the dragon will be enough to pay the taxes on the farm.
Set in tenth century Kievan Rus where magic and dragons exist, this is a charming fantasy adventure. ( )
