Breuer (read 10 Dec 2005) This is an account of American paratroopers in World War II. The author does not write inspired prose, and the book is full of names--he interviewed or at least used the accounts of 562 paratroopers to put together this 599 page book. I suppose he figured if every guy and his relatives bought the book he would have a best seller. He does little analysis, and seems to concentrate on the casualties suffered. One gets the idea it is mighty dangerous to jump out of airplanes. While the book certainly has some exciting accounts, I did not think it a good book. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
American paratroopers have always been a special breed of warrior. Geronimo focuses on human drama plus strategy clashes that took place within the Allied airborne command. The story ranges from North Africa to Sicily, from the jungles of the Philippines to the beaches of Normandy. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
