The clever premise elevates it above many other bookshop-set cozy mysteries, and the narrative voice is engaging and interesting. A bit contrived, but very enjoyable. Eager to read more of the series! ( ) Hilarious amazing! Stumbled across this in a booktok rec vid and I’m so glad I did! Now I’m even more determined to read Wuthering Heights. I’ll probably also be adding Sherlock Holmes to my TBR and definitely gonna have to review The Raven. This book was so good and had me in stitches through it all. Steffanie Holmes did an amazing job creating loveable characters and building the scene. Can’t wait to continue this series! Good start I love mysteries, and the idea of characters from classic literature coming to life sounds intriguing. My problem with this book lies squarely with me (which is why I didn’t give it a low rating). The mystery wasn’t very difficult to figure out, I knew ‘who’d done it’ very early on, but I still enjoyed seeing the story unfold. I didn’t realize that I’d read the other series by this author, well the first book or two. I personally lost interest because they became more likened to erotica. I just don’t enjoy multiple super graphic sex scenes in every book, I feel they detract from the plot. So while I liked this book my fear is this series will head the same direction as the previous, once all the love interest have been realized. The writing was well done, I wasn’t overly fond of the use of ‘_’ in place of proper nouns, again purely a me thing. My brain decided to insert a buzzer sound every time one appeared... it lost its appeal very quickly. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
