When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she's forced to start over. Now she has to figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before. Ed can hardly believe it when his ex shows up at his tattoo parlor with no memory of their past, asking about the breakup that nearly destroyed him. The last thing he needs is more heartache, but he can't seem to let her go again. Should they walk away for good, or does their love deserve a repeat performance?… (más)

This is a romance book with amnesia, which has been done a lot, but I really like how it is handled in Repeat. Instead of Clem constantly trying to get her old life back, she tries to figure who she is now. Everything isn't going to magically go back to the way things were because she is a different person now.

I liked the rest of the book, but didn't love it. Clem and Ed had decent chemistry, but their relationship felt rushed. The rest of the characters were alright, but pretty stereotypical. The mystery was nothing special. ( )

Following a vicious mugging, Clementine Jones awakens with no memory. In an attempt to learn about the person she was and the life she lived, Clem approaches her ex-boyfriend, Ed Larsen, only to learn that she broke off their relationship with no explanation. Ed is wary of trusting his heart to Clem once again, but cannot seem to walk away from her. Can Ed and Clem find their way back to each other?

To begin with, the amnesia trope is one of my favorites, and Scott handles it very well. It is wonderful to see Clem grow into the person she was meant to be without the memories of her past traumas influencing her personality and behavior. It is not that original Clem was unlikable per se, but rather that she allowed her doubts and insecurities to rule her life. She becomes a more open, trusting, and loving person in the aftermath of the attack.

Ed is a fantastic hero. His struggle to overcome his anger and heartache over "old" Clem's actions is portrayed very realistically, and it is very satisfying to see him learn to accept, trust and love the "new" Clem.

The minor suspense plot revolving around Clem's attack is the weakest part of the book as the culprit is obvious from the moment they are introduced.

Andi Ardnt's narration of the audiobook is excellent and she makes the characters and the story come alive.

All in all, this is a delightful read, and I will definitely continue with the series as well as read other Kylie Scott books.

A fun read. This is one where the use of first person present made s nose and worked for the story. I enjoyed the heroine and watching her discover who she used to be and figuring out who she is now. I liked the hero too. Believable chemistry between them. ( )

Clementine Johns has suffered memory loss after a mysterious attack. When she goes to visit her former boyfriend, Ed Larsen, she gets an angry reception that she doesn't expect as he escorts her out of his tattoo parlor. Clem doesn't remember the devastating break-up that is still very recent in Ed's mind, but he is one of the few people, along with her sister, that she can count on to tell her who she is and what her life was like before the attack. While she and Ed once again grow closer, Clem must put her past behind her and start a new life even though her attacker is still out there. Vandalism on Clem's car leads Ed and her sister to believe that she would be safer living with him.

Repeat is my first book by Kylie Scott, and I liked the dynamic between the characters. Clem's amnesia provides a good reason to review her relationship with Ed and the other people in her life. The decision to move Clem in with Ed seems a bit odd since her sister is a police officer, but the long hours that she is working at the station make it more palpable. The other weakness of this book is the fairly obvious solution to the mystery, but these factors are not central to the story and do not outweigh the enjoyment of watching these two likable characters make their way back to each other or the build up of suspense as the story nears its conclusion. Overall, Repeat is a good story with an excellent romance. ( )

I am not sure how I feel about this book.
Its a good story. An interesting situation.
Hero is annoyed with heroine when she turns up so it's a rocky start. You can understand why he's upset.
I think I just found it hard to connect with the heroine, she is completely different to how she was before her memory loss.
Hero dated during separation but no details of how far his relationship with any of these women progressed. The heroine sees him on a date and is hurt but she broke things off so ....
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
Accusation of cheating.
No cheating.
