It includes information about his early years of life, his writing and drawing, remembering him, and a timeline of his life events on each page. It is an easy to read book but any ages could read to learn more about Dr. Seuss. Summary: Text and photographs introduce the biography of Dr. Seuss, an award-winning and famous illustrator and author best known for writing The Cat in the Hat. Personal Reaction: I believe this is a perfect book for 5-8 year olds to learn more about Dr Seuss. I enjoyed the timelines that ran along the bottom of the pages. I love all his books but my favorite is Oh the places we will go and of course Green Eggs and Ham. Classroom extension: 1. In the classroom, I would read Dr Seuss biography during Dr Seuss to introduce the children who was Dr Seuss and then read his books. I want to show he was a really person. And what a great way to start during Dr Seuss week. 2. In addition, to this book I think it would be a great way to introduce our young children and teach them about biographies and timelines. Dr. Seuss by Cherly Carlson is a very well done picture book. Carlson touches on important facts about Dr. Seuss, his early life, what he does (author and illustrator), his books he wrote, awards he won, and what was done to acknowledge his success (statue, name in the cement). This book has helpful parts that are good to teach students, Table of Contents, Index, Glossary, Read More/Internet Site page, a Time-line, and a nicely done Title Page. This very simple biography is a wonderful book to use as a teaching tool. The pictures are on one page and the text on the opposite page. The pictures are actual snapshots of Dr. Seuss. I have used this book to introduce biographies to my prekindergarten through second grade classes. Then I have read a Dr. Seuss book to them. also. This is a very simply bibliography book about Dr. Seuss. It tells about his life and death and includes a time line. I loved this book becuase it gave factual information in a simple format. I would use this in my classroom during Dr. Seuss week. It would be a great book to give kids a more in depth of Dr. Seuss. This biography is short in pages and touches the important information about Dr. Seuss. He was born in 1904 and his real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel. In the year 1920 he graduates from highschool. Dr Seuss writes his first book during the year of 1937. Twenty years later, he writes the famous The Cat in the Hat book. He accomplished writing 44 books before he passes in the year of 1991. During the year of 2004 he recieved a Hollywood Star. I liked the way this biography just touched on the important details of his life that made him knowm. I would use the facts from the book like I mentioned before with the time line situation. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
