Traditional Regency style and squeaky-cleanness aside, this had some nice angst about unrequited love, quality Misunderstandings, and Marianne has been in love with Justin for years, and she thought it hopeless. Justin promised he would wed Selina. When the engagement is scandalously broken, will Marianne have her chance or will misunderstanding consign her to spinsterhood forever? This was a delight to read. I enjoyed seeing Marianne and Justin. Of course, I would have liked to see better communication between them but the story would have been over before it began. Nevertheless, they both were lovely characters. Though a lot of their getting to know each other happened before the beginning of the novel, their attachment was obvious. They had time to know each other and that made the romance so much sweeter. The rest of the cast was amusing. The pace of the plot was slow at times, especially when the miscommunication happens between Marianne and Justin. I would recommend this to fans of sweet Regency romance.
