Drake has loved Serena forever, but has always put her choices first, which is something Serena and her sister never had as kids, but even though his heart was breaking, he was determined to put her needs and wants first, even if it feels like he is having his heart ripped out of him, or breaks all his teeth clenching his yaw like that, which seriously freaks me out people! This book is hot, spicy and delicious! In parts, I was yelling like a crazy mad person and others, well I wanted donuts! And lots of them. I love the interaction with Serena and her Boston work colleges! And did anyone else spot the total link it series!!! Oak Falls baby! Oh yeah! This is one totally happy girl right here!! But all messing around aside, Bayside Heat was simply everything I wish had happened to me when I was in my twenty's, it is truly a great book that I will simply love forever I give Bayside Heat 5 stars! ( ) Cara_Ross | Dec 2, 2018 | Bayside Heat is perfect for readers who love the friends to lovers trope! Normally, this isn't my favorite trope, but Foster did an amazing job with Serena and Derek! I simply adored them from the first page! So, Derek never wanted to stand in the way of Serena's dreams. He knew she always planned to get a job in a big design firm; she wasn't planning on staying in Bayside and he didn't want her to stay for him and resent it. So he pushed her away for years and now she is leaving for Boston. Before she goes, they both finally give in to their feelings (yay)! However, now they are lovers in a long distance relationship. Add in the frustration Serena is facing at what she thought would be her dream job and you have just enough angst to keep you interested. I appreciated that Bayside Heat is low angst! These two get together fairly early in the story, then the struggle is the distance, which they manage, then the struggle is her job. Overall, as a couple, they are solid and endearing. I didn't have to root for them to work out because I knew they would-it was just wondering HOW they would make it work. There was never any doubt that they were going to get their HEA and that make this a delightfully enjoyable read!
