In this book, the boy and his dragon have a wonderful day with many things making them feel happy. It starts with them getting a kitten from a farm, making new friends at the park, learning a new game (baseball) and finally getting together with his family for a wonderful dinner. All things that make the boy and his dragon happy. All this is told in simple, repetitive, easy vocabulary. These Beginning-to-Read books capture the imaginations of beginning readers and help them on their way to independent reading. They could also be read aloud to young children who are not able to read yet. The back of the book has several suggested activities that can be used for reading reinforcement. A great addition to a family library or a primary classroom. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley. ( )
