Marek Fabritis is used to delivering blows, not receiving them. But when he gets tipped off by an anonymous email about his ex-girlfriend, the news leaves him ice cold-and it's not because Gracen Moore is getting married to a total jerk. It's the fact that Marek has a three-year-old daughter he never knew about. Now he's going back home, not to play knight in shining armor but to make damn sure that no man takes what's his. For the first time, there might be something more important than hockey. Gracen Moore has always loved Marek. That's why she let him go, so he could pursue a career in the NHL. And that's why she never told him about Lilly. Only now does Gracen realize that she made an unforgivable mistake. But is that any reason for Marek to crash her wedding and make an epic scene? If the spark that still smolders between them is to be trusted, maybe. Still, Gracen's not getting her hopes up. Because she knows better than anyone that appearances aren't always what they seem . . .Contains mature themes.… (más)

Lately I've seen a trend of a number of hockey romances appearing on the market, I don't even like hockey but for some reason I love reading books set in that world. Marek was a dream of a hero such a flawed and yet sweet character. His rough exterior truly hides a heart of hold. Sawyer Bennett is a thoroughly enjoyable read for me and this book did not disappoint. I am reviewing this book based on an ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. ( )

This is a difficult one to rate.

I really dislike a woman keeping a child secret from the father deliberately.

Marek is really angry and mean to her over keeping the secret.
He did leave her so he could live his life responsibility and girlfriend free which is also awful as we know what that implies esp in the celebrity world.
I know he was young and finding his way in his career but still....
I am not sure I could have gone there with him again despite the mistake she made not telling him about his daughter.
Considering he gave her such a hard time she didn't really lay on thickly how much he hurt her by leaving and obviously having the opportunity and desire to play the field. What did it say about his feelings for her back then?

They had some honest conversations and the team and significant others were excellent as secondary characters.
It's well written but I think I just found it hard to understand either one of their decisions.

This author is new to me. I don't usually read Sports romance as they often have manwhore Heroes which I dislike but there were no intimate scenes with o/w or o/ m in this book. ( )

Really looking forward to this one and the story was fine I guess, but I found a lot of the time I was either annoyed at one of the characters or at both at the same time.
Marek at first kept raving on about how he’d lost 3 years of his daughters life and then disappearing. Gracen got me annoyed also....I’ve got kids and you can’t wrap them in cotton wool, they get boo boo’s, give the guy a break. She also was a bit a of a push over at times, not very confident.
On saying that the story isn’t all downers. Marek does get better and he takes on his role as father seriously. His relationship with Gracen takes a little longer to settle down. And it takes a lot for Gracen to finally stand up for herself.
I enjoyed seeing Josie and Reed again, they made a great addition to the storyline.
And I liked that the families of both Marek and Gracen got together and the ending was fulfilling for all.
An enjoyable Cold Fury read but not one of my favourites! ( )

I’ve been on the edge of my seat for this book since I read Reed. Marek is one hot hockey player, with a hot temper on and off the ice. This book was absolutely amazing. The emotions and rollercoaster ride to finding your first love stab you in the chest. Throw in a few surprises and crash a wedding and you’ve got the perfect combination.

The whole Cold Fury season are books that I read as one sitters… once you start, you do not stop until ‘The End’. And they are all 5 stars for sure. What’s next, Sawyer Bennett? I’m patiently waiting.

Just Read Marek Cold Fury Hockey #11. WOW that is a big series. Well anyway this is my first time reading this series and it stands alone nicely. Light hearted romance with a HEA. Marek and Gracen were long ago young sweethearts. Each was focused on their career and the dedication that would encumber. Major e-mail to Marek tips him off that Gracen has had his child and left him out of the raising routine for three years. Story tells of betrayals, love and healing. "A copy of this book was provided by Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." ( )
