I really wanted to like this book. I kept picking it up and reading a section and then putting it back down because nothing in what I was readng spoke to me. I have a feeling that it all depends on where you are in your journey. I had the priviledge to study with both John and Caitlin Matthews so maybe whatever itch this book scatches for others, is something I no longer feel the need for. This isn't a critique on the worthiness of the book. Just a suggestion about who the right readership might be. ( )
This book got me back into the habit of having devotional time each morning. Now that the weather is fine, I meditate and study for an hour each morning on my front porch. The Mist-Filled Path is a good introduction to Celtic tradition. Being of Celtic heritage and having been reared on a farm close to nature and the elements, I was able to relate to this book. It touched my soul. ( )
Reading some great stuff about Celtic history and the Druids, since all we ever seem to hear about, mystically and new age speaking, is China, China, China, India, India, India. Looking for parallels in my own indigenous cultures. Highly recommend is "The Mist-Filled Path" by Frank MacEowen (2002). I discovered that there is a Druidic prayer posture akin to "Hugging the Tree" in Qi Qong.
