Forever and a Day is a nice entry into the Bond legend, serving as a prequel and showing Bond receiving his 007 designation. It's a typical James Bond story, with hidden laboratories, double crosses, sinister henchmen, and a femme fatale. The only thing missing is Q and his creative devices to aid Bond in an ingenuous escape. I had a few nits to pick, but none worth going into. So enjoy the story, appreciate a thriller that's not 500 pages long, and put your favorite movie Bond into the role. I did all three. Audiobook On the plus side, the narrator, Matthew Goode, is excellent, with great vocal characterisation. On the negative side, I'm sure I enjoyed the Bond books decades ago but I had forgotten how much I disliked the written character and the style of the writing when I tried re-reading one 3 or 4 years ago. Faithful as Horowitz's novel is to Fleming's Bond, I found this just as little to my taste. Bond is misogynist and not very capable, and I find the endless descriptions of food, clothing, weapons and vehicles tedious. The best character is the one with the silliest name, "Sixteen". If you currently enjoy the original books, you'll enjoy this. If it's the movie Bond's character that you like, you might want to give this book a miss. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Also, it is very interesting to get into the head of James Bond and "hear" his thoughts on his job and his aims in life.
Highly recommended to all aficionados of thrillers, crime, James Bond and spy novels in general. ( )
