( ) In the late 1970s, there was a movement to push for the colonisation of outer space, through the building of huge space habitats at the Lagrange points in the Earth - Moon system (points of gravitational stability). The main protagonist of this idea was Dr. Gerard K. O'Neill of Princetown University. This book is an unusual take on the idea. The argument was that there was enough space for every sort of society that wished to set up on its own to have its own colony.
