There are some books you read because of the hype, or because they have a catchy title or striking cover art. This is not one of those books. Richard K. Weems collection of short stories is as tight and captivating of writing as any award winning author. You can read his stories and think, I know that person, or I've been in that situation. Some characters are humorous, some are scary, but they are all memorable. The only puzzlement is why Richard K. Weems is not a better known writer. ( )
