I had a problem with this book, because I both liked and hated it and reading it was very painful for me. I think it was a very good book, it just didn't bring me any joy. The ending was deeply disturbing for me. Four stars. (

I REALLY wanted to give this 2 stars for the cliffhanger ending, a big no-no in my book., but that wouldn't have been fair. The storytelling remains consistent, with constant declarations of love, inner monologues and discussions on the god-like powers of the archangels.

This series had been my guilty pleasure, but my enjoyment of this installment was severely muted by that cliffhanger. (

Could have just had the middle to end as the beginning of the book so there was no cliffhanger. Frankly I was bored out of my mind and skimmed about 100 pages. I don't care about Elena's human family. (

I swear if I have to wait another two years for the next in this series, I will be pissed.

It was a filler book to set up what comes next. The story lacked real suspense because it was clear from the beginning what was happening. The only thing that was interesting was the last chapter but when it ended on a total cliffhanger I was pissed. Think the ending of Twilight Breaking Dawn 1 where Bella wakes up and all you see is her eye, then cut to black. (
