This is an unsentimental novel based on the life of Andrea Dunbar, the young working-class woman who wrote the play of Rita, Sue and Bob Too. It manages to portray her life on a Bradford estate without either demonising or glamorising the poverty, and the later scenes where Andrea clashes with the London theatre world are funny but also a great demonstration of how hard it can be to move into a different world, how talent alone can only get you so far. At base its a tragic tale of a woman who had a short difficult life, but it's also a joyful story of a strong woman who achieved a lot in that life. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
