World Espionage Bureau, an agency that Raetz never fully defines but which is like the FBI, the CIA, and British Intelligence all rolled into one. It's headquartered in Las Vegas. Bryce is a sharpshooter, kind of
a rogue agent, and a cross between James Bond and Dirty Harry. All his stories are in part homage to the old fashioned noirish spy novels of the late fifties and early sixties.
This one begins with Bryce stranded by the side of the road in the Nevada desert with a stiff in the trunk. A gorgeous blonde in an SUV with two elderly Germans in the backseat picks him up. He leaves her handcuffed to the wheel at the Golden
Nugget. The author then flashes back to explain how Bryce ended up in this situation. Bryce and two other agents are out to take out a major arms dealer. Bruce makes contact with the dangerous Jericho
and en route to the finale ends up working with Mitzi, a call girl, and her bouncer, Vince.
All in all, an enjoyable read. These books are just all out fun to read. Nuff said. ( )
