[2.5] 本書をよんで続編なんかいらなかったなぁと思った。主人公の2人はたしかに可愛いけど、ミステリー的には色々足りなくてがっかり。 ( ) Oh my, I've been waiting forever for this book and out didn't disappoint. An array of madcap secondary characters kept a nice theme going from the first book. As did the mystery, which at first glance could have had supernatural leanings, but turned out to be all too human a motive. Love Nick and Perry together. And their thoughts for the future. My only quibble is that despite only a year passing from the first book, we seem too have jumped forward about a decade. Oh my, I've been waiting forever for this book and out didn't disappoint. Perry is right when believes all the tenants are a bit crazy…especially the one with the pet alligator…but they are a loveable bunch of lunatics for the most part….except for the alligator. Let’s not forget the three men in skeleton costumes and wooden swords chasing down Horace…the owner. It’s a setting that the Addams Family would have been proud to have been a part of. I love Josh Lanyon’s books…but I do wish they were longer. As usual she has done a wonderful job of presenting an intriguing mystery with an abundance of clues and just the right amount of danger. The two main characters of Perry, the art school student and aspiring artist… and Nick…the ex Navy SEAL and current PI are in a word…perfect… both for the story and for each other. Each of them bring their own strengths to the investigation and they work and play well together. Though all of this author’s books are filled with great and believable protagonists… I think I like Perry the best of them all. He doesn’t let a little thing like reality interfere with his optimistic view of the world. He takes people as they are without question. These series tend to be very short but I really hope to see more of Perry and Nick in the future. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

To live and draw in LA Now living in Los Angeles with former Navy SEAL Nick Reno, artist Perry Foster comes to the rescue of elderly and eccentric Horace Daly, the legendary film star of such horror classics as Why Won't You Die, My Darling? Horace owns the famous but now run-down Hollywood hotel Angels Rest, rumored to be haunted. But as far as Perry can tell, the scariest thing about Angels Rest is the cast of crazy tenants - one of whom seems determined to bring down the final curtain on Horace and anyone else who gets in the way.
