This was the second book that I have read by this author, and yes, he definitely remains on my TBR list! In this book, Olivia was 6 years old when she went missing. It's now thirteen years later and she's back. Upon her return, she finds her mother remarried to TweedleDum, Mack, and his shadow (brother) TweedleDick, Ashley. Whenever you see one brother, you see the other. Ten years in age difference and someone in this pair has not grown up. Ha!! She also finds her father, an alcoholic recluse who the whole village blames for Olivia's disappearance. I can tell you that there was one person in this book that I could not stand. The author did a great job portraying him as an arse. The twists are there, but you really don't see them and connect all the dots until the ending. This was a great read that I could not put down. Definitely thrilling and entertaining! Thanks to Bookouture and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. I loved this book. It definitely held my attention and I needed to keep reading because I wanted to know how Olivia and Lily were connected. Olivia disappeared from her yard when she was six years old. She was never found until she shows up at her mother's cafe after being missing for thirteen years. Everyone naturally wants to know where she was for all the years and who had taken her. Olivia's mom is remarried. Her new stepfather and his brother do not want Olivia in their life. Lily's mom died when she was eleven. After her death, Lily's dad didn't cope too well and started drinking and didn't always pick up food for their house. The book alternated between Lily and Olivia. I loved reading about both of them and knew there had to be some kind of connection. I loved the ending of the book. Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author, Kerry Wilkinson, for a free electronic ARC of this novel. Are you serious. This psychological thriller is my first Kerry Wilkinson read, and while the cover pulled me in, this book is quite the page turner. When I first saw this book cover with the abandoned swing I immediately thought, "where is the child?" Yes, it seems that every day we wake up and hope our children, or those around us, are safe. In this thriller, we learn that Olivia Adams went missing from her back garden. We learn Olivia's parent's marriage crumbled after her disappearance. And some 13 years later, Olivia returns... or does she? This was a quick read. As the story unfolds, we watch characters trying to make sense of things and see how lives are intertwined. All the while, we follow this suspenseful read, with many twists. Reviewed for Net Galley sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

If this is the missing girl, then where has she been - and what happened to her on that sunny afternoon? If she's an imposter, then who would be bold enough to try to fool a child's own mother - and why? Then there are those who would rather Olivia stayed missing. The past is the past and some secrets must remain buried. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
