I loved this book and thought it did a great job of introducing the Dakonian world as well as laying the groundwork for the series. I have already read the fourth book in the series as well as the Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides Series so I was familiar with some things but loved backtracking to get a fuller history of where the series began and getting to know Starr and Torg in this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book and reading about Torg's brother finding his mate as well as getting to know him better since seemed likable based on what we got to see of him in this book. There are various errors. From sentence structure, grammar and typos. Not a lot, but the ones there make you stop and go back to reread what you just read. Some of it is a bit boring and repetitive. However, Torg, his culture and planet are interesting. Starr and the other women from Earth seem relatively smart and strong. There are some smile and grin moments. The intimate scenes are adult, sweet & steamy. There is some suspense and action. All in all it was worth reading & I will continue to the next book in the series. The way this one left off has my curiosity peaked on how things will change on Torg's world. I really liked this book. This is the first book I have read by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. Starr Elizabeth Connor is convicted of a crime she did not commit and finds herself on a ship headed for an alien planet where the men are desperate for women to take as brides to avoid the extinction of their species. The problem is Starr didn't know or sign up for this and is waiting to win an appeal to prove her innocence.. Torg wants his own female and Starr is not what he expected. I enjoyed the story, there is lots of potential for other books with other couples, which I would definitely read. It is well written and an interesting story. Some alien books fill what i call my 'fluff' read but this book has a solid story and great potential for a series. Generous 3 stars. This book was partly good and partly "ugh". Anyway, I enjoyed the time I spent reading this book - once I had switched off my critical brain. I liked the idea of sending women to an alien planet, clashing "modern" with "stone age" societies. The human trafficking aspect was unsettling to me, but couldn't be helped to make this story work. I liked the detail of the ship's name "SS Australia" - parts of this story reminded me of the history of the former convict colony. There were some glitches - grammar, spelling (esp. the name of the female MC, when referred to by the male MC). Thank you to the publishers for providing an ARC through NetGalley. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I'm Starr Elizabeth Connor. Earth's government falsely convicted me of a crime, packed me on a ship with other female felons, and sent us to Dakon, a primitive, frozen wasteland of a planet. Why? Earth needs minerals, and Dakon is desperate for females. But I'm no barbarian's 'mail order bride,' even if he is super tall, muscular, and the chief of his tribe. He doesn't want a BBW blonde, either--it's written all over his chiseled face. He'll be truly angry if he ever learns what my 'crime' was. I am Torg. I have waited 34 rotations for a mate of my own. With this shipment, I was sure to get a fine, sturdy mate who'll bear me many daughters. Instead, I receive a small, curvy, pale-haired female who looks at me with anger and fear. It is only when we 'kiss' that I believe things may work out between us. But I'm hearing rumors that Starr and her shipmates are law-breakers. To survive, Dakonians must obey all laws ... or be exiled into the frozen wasteland. Just when I have found her, will I have to send my mate to die?
