I was disappointed after reading Blue Horizon, as I felt it didn't capture the spirit of Monsoon (my favorite of the Courtney books) and thought it was an unworthy sequel. The Tiger's Prey on the other hand, recreates the drama and potential of the Indian Ocean trade network as well as some intense sea battles on par with any good historical fiction work. Not sure how much was Smith and how much was Tom Harper, but recommended for those who liked Monsoon and the Courtney saga. ( )

Another great Wilbur Smith romp with the Courtney family. Once again we are on the high seas but in Bombay too and there are castles, swords, pirates , battles and lots of adventures. Never disappoints. ( )
