Romanzo d'esordio della Slaughter, dove la protagonista è Sara Linton.
Molte pagine per stomaci forti, tra omicidi e autopsie.
Forse non il suo migliore thriller, ma con il tempo è migliorata.
Trama avvincente, nonostante un finale un po' banale, anche se gli indizi disseminati fanno già comprendere chi è il colpevole. (

The many layers of this Grant County series are peeled away in all their raw, agonizing glory. Long-standing questions are finally answered and new questions lead to answers that inflict more pain and misery than could ever be imagined. You either love Lena or you hate her but everyone looks forward to her scenes in the books. One thing I count on when I pick up one of Karin Slaughter's books is that I will be horrified and intrigued throughout the entire story, (

Wow! Scrag a hero: what a brilliant turn of events! A good writer doesn't depend on her characters, the characters depend on her. They have to be sparkling, creative and strong enough to keep surprizing.... and I admit, he wasn't growing anymore. Or, that is not entirely true, he was growing, but in a way that made him loose the core of his creation in the first place. The perspective of having Jeffrey clean up the s**t in diapers and Sara's mom to send her daughter on a guilt trip because that should be her job.... Thanks Karin, for saving us that! (

A great read for fans of the series (for the most part). Lots of secrets are disclosed about Lena, who plays a major part in this story. As usual, she gets into lots of trouble, which is becoming too common. A lot of unexpected plot twists in this one.

Fortunately for me, I had started reading the Will Trent series a while back, so I was ready for the ending, although I didn't know when it would happen. Well, it finally happened, and life goes on in the real world. (
