I love the Tovi the Penguin books! The treasure hunt in this story is fun an interactive. The only drawback is that most kids don't know many French sites. However, it's always great to see where and what Tovi will do next. ( )

Tovi, the penguin, is back and looking for treasure in Paris. He wants to find Mona Lisa. His friends decide to make it an adventure for Tovi. On the way to find her, they visit well-known spots in Paris. The background colors are subdued so that the penguins and clues stand out. This slim 32-page book is easily to read, but younger student will need help with words like baguette, boulangerie, and name of places.

I received a mobi.file copy of this book through a giveaway the author had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.
On this outing Tovi and his friends are in Paris where while visiting the Arc de Triomphe he sees a poster on the side of a newsstand with a beautiful woman on it. Not knowing who she is Tovi asks his friends where he could find her.

His friends know precisely she is and where she can be found. So his friend Faye whispers into Liam’s ear that they should have a treasure hunt to find her.

The next day Faye reads the first clue which is in the form of a riddle which gives the location of the next clue, where each riddle takes everyone to another sightseeing attraction. There are a total of five clues related to their next stop on the treasure hunt. The final clue takes everyone to the Louvre and to the woman he saw on the newsstand poster, the woman being none other than Mona Lisa.

As usual in the other books in the Tovi the Penguin series by the author, Janina Rossiter, this book with its wonderful illustrations winds up being an educational reading experience, well suited of its target audience of children between the ages of 2-6. For educating its young readers a little about the sites in Paris, France, I’ve given this book 5 STARS. ( )

Tovi the Penguin goes on a treasure hunt in Paris was such a cute, little story. It was just overall such a nice, quick read, with enjoyable characters and a wonderful storyline. The graphics were also a really nice touch. I thoroughly enjoyed the color scheme choice the author made for this book. I feel that it also quite informational (in the aspect that it is for children) with mentioning of famous Parisian locations. I would highly recommend this story to parents of young children, and it would be the kind of book that I would read to younger siblings, and children I care for. ( )
