Comic book novel that reads like a TV show with multiple typographic errors and difficult to follow plotting. ( )

I decided to read the Nikki Heat series because I loved the tv series Castle which is what these books are based around. I liked how the books are written as if Richard Castle had really written it with the dedication and such. The story was fast paced and suspenseful. These books are true t the series without just rehashing the tv show. They add something slightly different but equally as good to the world of Nikki Heat. ( )

I kinda hope this is the last Heat novel. I'm not a fan of this ghost writer (clearly carried over from the Storm novels). The book was okay and really was made by the addition of Storm's dad, Carl who was probably the best character in the book (even Nikki was rather subsumed by Storm and the plot). The mystery was actually pretty good, though, so I will definitely give the author that much credit. I was not a fan of separating Rook and Heat as happened on Castle, but the resolution to this situation in the book was handle better, IMO. I honestly expected one more slight twist at the end, but I'm not disappointed that it didn't happen. Overall, an okay book that I hope finishes a really good series... kind of how I felt about the series finale of the show, too. ( )

In this next book of Richard Castle’s Nikki Heat series, Castle brings in Derrick Storm and together the two solve the case that has driven Nikki for years. Unlike the previous Castle books, Heat Storm takes some time to get into and although action packed right off the back takes some time to really get the story going. Once going however, the book is a nonstop adventure with twists, turns, and an unpredictable ending! ( )
