SPOILERS. I'm at a loss to review this, as I really wanted to like it. A 70-page short story in which a man panics on a space ship, causes a humanitarian disaster and gets put on the first offender program. There's a little touch of zombies, no character development to speak of, you never learn anything about the aliens other than they're murderously vindictive, the plot twists are obvious, and the writing is no great shakes either.. Don't know what else to say--the book doesn't live up to its cover art. ( )

A young man finds himself on a strange planet, accused of killing millions of humans. His two questioners let him tell them his story of a generational spaceship destroyed, and his part in causing it, as they prepare for his trial.

As with all of Lebbon's science fiction, a well-told story with interesting twists. In fact, Lebbon is fast becoming one of my favorites. This is just really good human-centered storytelling, as you'd find in Wyndham or Howey. ( )
