These two men are so different but they work so well together. Jory just gets Dane with all his quirks and sharp angles, he loves him for who he is. And Dane is such a character - half the time I was amused, the other half I was mildly irritated. But in the end the moments they had were touching and very heart-felt. They created a family of their own as brothers. After being shot Jory ends up in hospital and Sam leaves him to find all the villains that are involved. Three years later, Jory is still the model-like beautiful man, all gay men are after but he only has one-night-stands because his heart was broken once by Sam and he doesn’t want that ever to happen again. He rather focusses on his brother’s wedding and his work when all of a sudden Sam shows up and wants to be part of his life. While Jory still struggles what to do about that it shows that the murders of the past cast a long shadow. There’s still a murder trying to kill Jory and his loved-ones. When Sam almost gets killed, Jory sets of alone (absolutely unbelievable but rather funny) to find the murderer. And while Sam tries to make sure that Jory is alright, it becomes clear who is involved in the crimes (it’s obvious to the reader 100 pages before Jory finally understands who the threat is). I have to admit that the logics and structure of the books remained a riddle to me because there were flashbacks, just descriptive parts and some action parts that were just like the ones I already read. And rather often the interaction between Jory and Sam was limited to fighting or make-up-sex. I really never got proof that they had a real relationship with very down-to-Earth-things. Although the whole thing is rather bumpy and all but flawless, Calmes really makes sure it’s at least a very entertaining read. And that is worth something. Definitely. The first Volume was a nice read, but the second is just too much. Jory is too beautiful, everyone loves him and he saves every situation. He is simply too good. And beautiful. And irresistable. And beautiful. And adorable. And beautiful. And everybody loves him. Because he is ... well maybe you can guess (if not: beautiful). It gets old fast. And it wears the story down. Not a good read, even if you liked the first volume. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
