"Lake Jones is a cover girl for cutting-edge prosthetic legs, a binge-watcher of Netflix, known to spy on her neighbor through her door's peephole, and fond of laser games with her hairless cat. She's also a bit sexually-frustrated. Until ... God bestows a breath of mercy upon her in the form of Minnesota's NFL starting quarterback. But this gift is no stranger. Lake met Cage Monaghan three years earlier. It was one day. One moment. One kiss that resurrected her dreams of finding love. His dimpled smile distracts from his imperfections, which include: a love for country music, fishing, and a feline-hating girlfriend. When life finally gives them their chance, it's a humorous and heart-wrenching journey to find their place in the world."--Page [4] of cover.… (más)

I always know when I get a book by this author that she is going to take me on a journey. This book was definitely that. I loved the characters. Even the secondary ones were exemplary. Lake is one of my favorite characters that this author has written. I loved her humor and her outlook on life. Her and Cage were proof that kidney existed. I loved watching their story unfold.

Highly recommend this powerful story that teaches the lesson of resilience, unconditional love, and acceptance of all that life offers. ( )

For people wanting to read this: read the newest copy.

Personally there are too many books I want to read before this one but props for the author for actually listening to criticisms and changing parts of their story to use inclusive words instead of casual racist ones.

I want to believe the best of people. And I do know how insidious words can be while growing up so I don't believe in the 'but it was in 2016, people should know better!' argument.

Listen I was rewatching Buffy a while ago and that was made in the 90's? THE SAME COMMENTARY ON SOCIETY IS STILL BEING SAID TODAY. Think about that before saying "People should know better because we live in year xxxx"

Utterly charming. This book is Lake and Cage's follow up to the Jack and Jill series the preceded it. Lake is funny, confident and a whirlwind. There were so many one-liners and adorable scenes. The build up to the relationship kept me reading and I almost finished in one evening.

I thought it the first time we laid eyes on each other, and years later it still felt the same.He looked at me like people looked at puppies, cooing babies, ocean-view sunsets and ... miracles.

In explicably, she owned a part of me from the moment she was born, and it took twenty-one years for her to find me and dangle it in front of an are-you-missing-this sort of way.

What would you say if I told you I love you?
>
Right then.
Right there.
In that moment.
....
"I wouldn't say anything. You'd leave me speechless."
...
"I love you in a way that makes me uncertain of everything in my life but you. I love you in a way that makes me want nothing but you."

Give me you. Give me every tear. Give me every breath. Give me every fear. Give me every touch. Give me every smile. Give me everyday.

FGMAMTC Blog Review  Giveaway & Teaser
Often in books it isn’t difficult to fall for the male lead, but just as frequently, I’m indifferent to the female lead or actually don’t even like her. I adore Lake. She is amazingly awesome. I have a huge lady crush on her. One really takes the reader inside Lake’s head, and it’s a pretty decent place to be. She’s relatable, sincere and the owner of an excellent sense of humor.
Cage is super man candy. He’s a hot NFL quarterback, but his best asset has to be the sweetness factor. I could skip dessert indefinitely with Cage in my life.
The author delivered a major case of the feels with this story. It’s filled with much of everything the heart needs. Romance readers prepare for greatness. I majorly loved this book, the plot, the characters, everything.
