Having recruited a crew of women for her pirate ship, Raven Xingtao sets sail for a port of call frequented by pirates. It’s notorious for its harbor full of don’t ask don’t tell merchants. The crew is seeking both supplies and intelligence about the Raven’s brothers who have cheated her out of her inheritance. Alas, they end up captured by the same dastardly brothers who discover, rather painfully, that this crew has a few electrifying, not to mention explosive ways of getting out of tight spots. Plus, they can more than wrestle their weight in alligators. ( )

Blew through most of this in one sitting. This was fun, though I did enjoy the first volume better. There were still meta jokes, and women kicking ass with both brains and brawn.

Excellent.

Also, we finally meet the dastardly brothers of Raven, and they are as loathsome as advertised. ( )

That was even cooler than the first volume. The crew is off to find Raven's brothers and Raven's father and get revenge on the lot of 'em.

There's some growing pains on the ship as the crew settles in and gets to know each other (there's a little puking too, ew).

They go to an island. The Island of the Free Women, except it may not be so free for women anymore. And we get to see some of the smaller characters shine through, which was super cool.

Ooh, and then the end, whew, that was, wow. Now I definitely need to read Vol. Three!! Right Now!!! ( )
