ARC Review: An Affair in Winter (Seasons) by Jess Michaels An Affair in Winter is an epic love story. A passion shrouded in secrecy, a wedding arranged by a spiteful, scheming, power hungry man and the hidden secrets he holds within his grasp lead to explosive revelations. Ms. Michaels has crafted a love story that mixes spice with emotion. Like a jigsaw, piece by piece she reveals more about the driving force behind each character. Rosalinde was a person who wanted to be loved and not treated like a means to an end. Her entire existence was center around the charity of her grandfather and his bitterness toward Rosalinde and her sister (who was the only bright spot in a heartbreaking existence). When her sister is forced into an arranged engagement and marriage to appease a vindictive old man, Rosalinde will risk her virtue, heart and well being to make sure her sister finds the happiness she deserves. Grayson is the brother of the groom, Rosalinde, the sister of the bride. A chance meeting, a secret affair and conflicting opinions make for a tempestuous romance filled with unforgettable moments that are as bewitching as they are heartbreaking. My favorite Jess Michaels story to date. Rosalinde Wilde is stranded at a country inn due to a sudden snowstorm. She meets Mr. Gray and they indulge in a steamy one-night affair. Imagine her shock when Mr. Gray is really Grayson Danford, the brother of the groom who is marrying her sister, Celia. Both Rosalinde and Gray worry about their siblings and have different views about the upcoming wedding. The story was a little bit predictable, but the cast of characters were interesting and the romance between Gray and Rosalinde was passionate. The evil grandfather was over the top, especially in a scene near the end, but I'm looking forward to Celia's story, the next book in the series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Widow Rosalinde Wilde is on her way to her beloved sister's wedding when an unexpected storm waylays her at an overcrowded inn. There she meets a tempting stranger who sweeps her into a night of unforgettable passion. Grayson Danford never expected a night with the irresistible Mrs. Wilde, but she was a welcome distraction from the unpleasant duty of breaking up his brother's impending nuptials. He's shocked when he discovers his passionate lover is none other than the sister of his brother's intended. Now Rosalinde and Gray will butt heads, even as their simmering desire for each other threatens to boil over. Who will win? And who might lose it all? Adult Content i.e. explicit sex scenes
As per the synopsis, this story centres around Gray, who is trying to break up the pending marriage of his brother Lucien to Celia, Rosalinde's sister. Rosalinde is trying to prevent Gray from doing so.
The story is loosely an enemies to lovers. Both Gray and Rosalinde state that they are enemies but have a deep attraction to each other that they find hard to resist.
As the story unfolds you learn more about why Lucien and Celia got engaged, why Gray is admant to break it up. I found each character likeable, with the exception of Celia & Rosalinde's grandfather, which the reader is suposed to dislike as he is a vile power hungry person.
Though there is explicit sex scenes within the story they are kept to a minimum and I would only rate them as 2/5 steam fans. In my opinion there was no sex talk that accompanied these scenes. I found these scenes added to the story when they were included as it contributed to showing the attraction and passion that Gray and Rosalinde found for each other.
I thoroughly loved Jess Michael's "The 1797" series and this new series to me, "Seasons", did not disappoint. I will certainly read the other three books available. ( )
