This book contains 10 first person accounts from Japanese and their experiences with WWII. In their accounts we get to hear from those that actually lived through this horrific period. ( ) Genre: History/Biography Critique of Genre: This is an eye opening example of a collection of biographies of people who were in some way connected to the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. There are over ten personal accounts of what the individuals saw on that fateful day as well as a scattering of pictures, maps and a timeline of the events that happened that day. Setting: The setting is crucial for this biography because if it were not set in Pearl Harbor, then we would have a completely different subject we were reading about and the genre would definitely change! :) The old and new pictures of the area where the attacks happened helps you have a mental picture of what went on and the picture toward the end of the personal accounts (the arial shot of the U.S.S Arizona Memorial) actually brought tears to my eyes. It was eerie looking at it and knowing that many people were buried alive inside that ship. Media: photography sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
