I read this book aloud to my children as part of our studies on Native Nations. I am a huge fan of the author, Bobbie Kalman, whose books are age-appropriate and engaging.

This book is part of the Native Nations of North America series. It is an excellent resource for learning about the many types of native homes, which include: the tipis of the Great Plains tribes, the longhouses of the Northeastern Woodland tribes, the wigwams of Woodland tribes, the lodges of some Plains nations, the pueblos of the Southwest tribes, the plankhouses of the Northwest Coast tribes, and the igloos of the Inuit tribes.

The illustrations are colourful and pleasing to the eye.

I love Kalman’s books, and this is an excellent addition to our studies on Native Nations!
