Seaview Inn por Sherryl Woods (JenniferRobb)
JenniferRobb: Both involve B&B/Inns. Hannon's work tends to be cleaner romance than Woods's works.

Great book! I love Irene Hannon's writing and this book was no exception. Great characters and I love the setting of Hope Harbor. If you read the first book, you'll know who the characters are.
BJ is an architect running from her past. She finds peace on Hope Harbor. She also gets involved in the community by volunteering for Helping Hands. She's currently working on Eric's fathers house. Eric is seeking refuge after bring downsized from his company. His dad eagerly has him stay with him. BJ and Eric have an unfortunate first meeting but over time they develop a guarded friendship. BJ is wary to open her heart to someone who might be leaving and Eric is guarded for the same reason. Eric decides that home is where the heart is and him and BJ decide to follow their future together. So much more happens, so read the book! You won't be disappointed! ( )

I've read later books in this series and am going back to read the earlier books. This one I listened to as an audiobook, though others I have read in physical book format.

I never imagined Charlie as having an accent when I read about his character in later books, so it was a bit of an adjustment to hear the narrator using one for him.

I knew the ending early on in the book and found the dragging out of the plot a bit unnecessary. There's also a lot of being in the characters thoughts--something I don't remember as much of in later books.

There are some good life questions to consider:
*Is it prudent to change your "life goals"? If so, when or under what circumstances?
*What can you do to ease the loneliness of someone among your acquaintances? (an elderly person who lives alone and isn't able to get out much, a new arrival to the area who doesn't know many people, someone who may have a language barrier or be shy about meeting new people--just as examples)
*What is a good balance between making a living and pursuing a passion?
*How can we help people stay in their homes when they want to do that but have physical or mental issues that make it difficult. ( )

On track for a partnership, attorney-at-law Eric Nash instead is made redundant and is out of a job. He goes home to Hope Harbor to reassess his job opportunities. Meanwhile, he reconnects with his true passion: painting. While talented, he didn’t believe being an artist would pay the bills. He meets B. J., the construction company owner who is remodeling his dad’s home into a B&B. After a rocky start, these two find they have an attraction to each other. This novel addresses some weightier social issues: depression, prejudice, elder-care, suicide, and more, but it still finds some space for romance. It’s a well written novel, with delightful characters in a wonderful setting. Hope Harbor is a lovely place to visit, even if it only exists in the pages of a book. ( )

Returning to Hope Harbor with another sweet, contemporary story, Irene Hannon’s Sea Rose Lane explores starting over and second chances. Attorney Eric Nash has been laid off and heads to his hometown to figure out what could be next, while BJ Stevens, previously a big-city architect, is enjoying the quiet life of that town, though still grapples with her lingering past. As their paths cross unexpectedly, the pair embark on a journey of growth, hope, and heartwarming romance. Their story, like Hope Harbor, is one I will happily recommend.

Thanks to Revell Reads, I received a copy of Sea Rose Lane and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. ( )

I didn't know this book was the second in a series when I picked up, but it was alright on its own. This is a new author to me and I hope to read the rest of this series as well as the series leading up and including the teaser the back of this book. ( )
