Very interesting with details rrvrsl d by main character Jason West, FBI special agent with the Art Crime Team Sam officially requests Jason's help investigating a series of homicides where the victim is staged with a bad Monet fake. But a professional relationship is all he wants, leaving Jason angry and disappointed. Still, prompted by a journalist following Jason's career, Jason's investigation into fraudulent art collection sales keeps intersecting with Sam's. Plot is a little muddled. M/M Mystery, M/M romance, art-crimes, art-detective, art-fraud, art-history, art-theft, artist, historical-research, FBI, local-law-enforcement, suspense, suspicion, multiple-murder, investigations, investigative-journalist, relationship-issues, relationships, relatives, siblings, crime-thriller, secrets, cold-case***** I knew that the mystery would be good, only not THAT good! Special Agents Jason West and Sam Kennedy have their home bases on opposite coasts with West on the art crimes task force in LA while Section Chief Kennedy is a profiler in Washington DC but spends more time on the road than most agents. West is told that he is needed as a consultant in a current murder that is tied to the serial murder that is being worked by Kennedy. Each man pursues his own case but they keep crossing paths. The case takes a lot more than due diligence and is personal in different ways to each agent. Meanwhile, things are definitely heating up between them and verbal interaction is no longer one sided. Excellent read! And a chance to learn more about art history! Voice actor Kale Williams has an intimate voice quality and really knows how to use it to the listener's advantage while defining each character's personality traits.. I read this book in 1 day so I did enjoy it, buuuuut I expected something different. For one thing, Kennedy was mostly absent from this book. Later I learned that these events happen at the same time when things are going down in [b:Winter Kill|17261670|Winter Kill|Josh Lanyon|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1358660805l/17261670._SX50_.jpg|23858239]. And Kennedy is kind of the boss, so he tried to be everywhere. Poor guy. So that's one thing that I didn't like. (Btw. no need to read Winter Kill, I wasn't missing anything.) Jason was practically mooning over Kennedy through the whole book, I loved that part actually. Suffeeeeer... yes! ;D But then in the end the resolution happened so fast and honestly I found it cheesy. So unlike the men I got to know. And the whole ending was rushed. -.- Still going slowly forward with the series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
