This book of months is full of lovely woodcut illustrations and poems that are pleasing to the ear. At the end there is a Q & A about the moon. It would make a nice addition to my granddaughters' bookshelves. ( ) Astronomy simplified and made pretty. Notes in the back are at a reading level accessible to the child audience. Somehow not quite to my taste, though, hence a lower personal rating than it probably deserves were I to rate objectively. I think I was looking for more vibrancy. I also couldn't help but compare it to :a similar kid's book that I can't remember or track down right now: that I recall enjoying more. Hand colored woodcuts illustrate a poem for each month of the year in this wonderful book about moons. Each double-page spread has a new name for the moon (September is the harvest moon, October is the hunter's moon, etc), and there is a sweet, descriptive poem about this month's nighttime. In the back of the book, the reader can find all sorts of useful scientific facts about the moon. Lovely! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
