John Carillo is a school janitor who is basically the heart of the school. Everybody at the school loves him and respects him. They love him so much that the whole school puts a banner up honoring him. Also they have posted up little notes saying how much they appreciate him. ( )

Critique: This book is a good example of a realistic fiction book because the character's and setting are based on events that could take place. Two children who plan a secret for their custodian and eventually make a banner the says A+ Custodian on it, is something that could happen in an elementary school.
Theme: This is good example that has a theme about thanking others for their contributions. you have two student who want to show off the work that their custodian does and they put post it notes everywhere and get the whole school involved. It makes you want to run out and do this for others.
