A darker and more serious tone takes this series in an entirely new and fresh direction. Amazing artwork, strong characterization and lots of action/adventure. This series deserves more attention! ( )

A mild series loses some momentum as this volume, while packed with lots of action, death, war and destruction, left me kind of bored. ( )

This is the third installment for the series and the action, like it’s two predecessors, picks up right where the reader left off. Cleopatra and her friends from the Yasiro academy are surrounded by Xerx spaceships. They are forced to take smaller pods to Hykosis City, where the desirable tablets are hidden. Lots of action, humor and returning of enemies make this colorful graphic novel a hit with not only those who like the series but also fans of Zita the spacegirl. ( )

Surrounded by a fleet of Xerx ships, Cleopatra and her shipmate use the escape pods to land on Hyskosis where they hope to recover the powerful time tablets that brought Cleopatra from the distant past to the far future. In a homage to the cantina scene in “Star Wars: A New Hope,” Cleo in cowboy hat shoots up a bar. And for those who keep track of these things: she shoots first. After the ensuing ruckus she’s forced to join forces with a former adversary named Antony.

Maihack keep the action brisk and blazing with both art and text in this third installment of the series. ( )
