In this "fun, sexy, emotional read" (Lisa Renee Jones), one woman discovers the courage to face life's greatest challenges--and explore her connection with a handsome neighbor.   Violet Walker has been hiding. Withdrawn after a terrible car accident, she is worried about going back to her high-pressure job, where she's expected to project confidence and sleek refinement. Allowing herself a distraction, she's been watching her sexy neighbor work on his house. But when the shirtless, grinning hunk catches her in the act, Violet is struck by the unmistakable jolt of physical chemistry, a sensation that's both thrilling and terrifying.   Noah Young is used to moving from one construction job to another, never laying a firm foundation. The same goes for the women in his life--until Violet changes all that. His beautiful voyeur embraces his rough edges and shows him a hint of real love. But even Noah can tell that she's holding back, hiding her body and her heart from what they both truly want. If only he could get a little help convincing Violet to see herself as he sees her: perfect in every way. Praise for Naked   "Naked is not to be missed. I recieved an ARC copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Violet has been in hiding for the last 6 months after a horrific accident, she's occupied her time by watching the hot neighbor next door remodeling his house. Noah, the handsome neighbor next door, creates a way to finally encounter the hiding beauty and they find they have instant chemistry. With plans of just four weeks of fun, Noah and Violet find themselves pulling each other's clothes off whenever and wherever they can, with just one catch, Violet is hiding something underneath her clothes and the scarves she wears everywhere. When Violet finally returns to life, and work, she doesn't expect to find Noah there and she definitely doesn't expect it when her heart starts making room for him.

I am on a roll with books surprising me lately and I am loving it. Naked, by Gina Gordon, absolutely surprised me when I realized it was so much more than just a romance. Main characters, Violet and Noah, had some great dialogue and both funny and extremely hot interactions. Seriously, their chemistry was totally off the charts. I loved the premise of this book, hot girl watching hot man through the window and finally meeting only to find she has some serious emotional damage. The best part was how Gina Gordon wrote the emotional aspects of this book, because mixed in with the romance and sex were some truly thought provoking moments for the main characters. I didn't expect the stuff going on with Violet and I definitely didn't expect Noah to be the person who helps introduce her to a world of acceptance. This book definitely starts out as just two people needing to get it on with one another, but it grows to be so much more. I liked the mix of personal life with family and friends as well, because it made the book feel all the more real. I absolutely enjoyed the hidden lesson of loving yourself mixed in with the story and how judgement and acceptance work for people. The characters all were different, their voices were distinct, and I enjoyed the two worlds of laborers versus wealth meeting in the middle. Plus, I just genuinely really liked Violet and Noah together. They sound like a cute couple and they had some great sex.

There is a lot going on in the book, as the first in a series I suspect it is due to setting the stage, but there are a lot of people to meet in a short period of time. What starts out fairly slow grows quickly and there are some characters I feel like I don't know or who have a past that are playing into the book, but aren't revealed yet. Some of the book reads as though there are characters we should already know well, but don't, so hopefully that means they'll be featured in upcoming novels. Hint Hint: Harper and Luke. There are is some fog around the relationship of Violet and Noah, because they just mostly have sex and somehow find a lot of emotions, but I'm willing to let that slide since I just liked them in general.

Told from alternating POV's, the story of Violet and Noah is a beautiful one. While it's definitely got some hot and heavy scenes, the overall story is of self acceptance and love. There are some intriguing characters and I will be sticking around to read more of the Body & Soul series. ( )

Great new series in the making. Love the characters especially Harper ( I am so looking forward to her story) Violet's life has been defined by her beauty and when she no longer has that, she seems to lose her self identity. Coupled with tragedy and her family's expectations of her makes her even more of a recluse. Noah is right there watching and waiting, giving her what she needs from him, patiently for her to open up even though he can see how blatantly her demons hold her back. But it is amazing how if we allow someone to see our true selves, allow ourselves to accept the reality of who and what we are and allow ourselves to be accepted by others, life and love can be ours for the taking. Being the weird one in my own life I can relate but I learnt that trying not to conform to society's standards of normal and self acceptance is the only way to be truly at peace, which is what Violet eventually learns about herself thanks to the people who love her.

Violet was in a bad car accident where her fiance died and she was badly scarred. She's been hiding out in a nearby town while she waits to take over her father's company. She's intrigued by her sexy neighbor, Noah, a construction guy who is remodeling the house. They meet, sparks fly even though neither is interested in a long relationship.
Noah is a sweetie and I liked him very much. Two secondary characters, Harper and Luke, were more interesting and had more connection so I'm interested in their story when/if it comes out. But I just didn't get Violet. She was so hyper-sensitive because her looks were everything, but wanted to succeed in business where it should be her brains that counted. Her guilt over the accident seemed misplaced and a bit over-the-top. I also didn't get the naivete that she seemed to have about sex. I thought that Noah deserved better and couldn't understand his attraction to Violet.
I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review. ( )

This was a pretty good book. The plot was well thought out and the writing was very good.

Violet is a young woman, a beauty who had suffered a terrible car accident which had killed her fiancé and left her with scars. Since then she likes to keep herself to herself,
but she does like to watch her neighbour...who is working on his roof...next door. He is a handsome looking stud, she covers her scars but still feels she could never talk to him. Until one day, Noah forces her hand.

I really enjoyed the story. I could sympathize with Violet, she dragged it out at bit with Noah though, but it was ok. The romance did get very hot and steamy, and I loved Noah's family values in the story, that was nice.

I can't wait for Harper's story, she was a really interesting character. ( )
