All that glitters may lead right to his heart....The last thing Cleopatra Knight expects on her business trip to Tokyo is to fall into bed with her arrogant, irresistibly hot boss, Dante Damaso. It's a mistake--a steamy, mind-blowingly satisfying mistake. But a few nights of passion with the superwealthy bad boy prove to have long-term effects when Cleo's world is unexpectedly turned upside down.Dante has cultivated an enviable, jet-setting lifestyle: beautiful women, exotic destinations, and luxury without limits. He's not looking to be domesticated, and certainly not by his assistant--even though he can't get her out of his mind. Still, he knows he has both the responsibility and the financial means to help Cleo.Though Cleo has no interest in Dante's money, her lack of prospects gives her little choice but to accept his help. But living under the same roof, Dante discovers he wants more, and if Cleo lets down her guard, she just might find what her heart's wanted all along.… (más)

Another lovely angsty read by Ms. Anders. It's one of those things where if you like the kind of things she does, you'll like this one. The hero is a super arrogant asshat. He definitely changed and became a better person over the course of the book. The heroine was interesting. She definitely grew and changed over the course of the book. There was a lot of discovering herself and learning to see herself with clear eyes. The ending was pretty satisfying. The hero did a pretty good job grovelling. So all's well at the end. ( )

The beginning of this book was kind of awkward and unconvincing. Perhaps the writing didn't feel organic , but eventually I fell into it a bit. The sex scenes were kind of sterile, but there was some good relationship development and character growth. The workplace thing was dealt with just well enough to avoid me throwing in the towel.

However. Without spoilers, I will say the plot took a turn that I felt was inelegant and convenient. As my friend Gaufre said, emotionally manipulative.

So while I enjoyed this just enough, and actually really loved the hero, I don't know that I'm committing to anymore Anders bc of the awkward writing in the beginning and the cringey, cheap ending. 2.5 rounded up. ( )

Way to whet my appetite Natasha Anders. A Ruthless Proposition is for sure a MUST HAVE. Stories where the heroine knocks the hero off kilter. This is one of those stories. These two were Trouble. Daily pushing each others hot buttons was bound to have an explosive reaction. I received an ARC of A Ruthless Proposition in exchange for an honest review. A Ruthless Proposition is a seductive dance that is as fun to read as it is to picture. ( )

This is my second novel by Natasha Anders and I am completely and thoroughly hooked to her. She used her tried and tested concoction well again, where she fitted an asshole hero with a no non-sense heroine and Booooommm!!! Another knockout. It has chemistry, passion, drool worthy hero, sassy heroine, hilarious comebacks and beautiful heart wrenching feelings. Anders is a master at writing asshole alphas who redeem themselves and make you fall in love with them.

Characterization was fantastic. Ms. Anders writes remarkable characters that have a tendency to stay with you. Their lovely bantering kept the story rolling. I liked they didn’t instantly fell in love. I loved the development of emotions between them. There were parts that had me laughing so hard that I had to take a break. There were parts that shattered my heart and made me weep for the agony the characters were feeling.

I applaud the author for writing such a beautiful second-chance book. I highly recommend it!!! ( )

Some of the reviews made me wonder about this book, but I've read all the others by this author now and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did as I enjoyed this story very much.
Cleo doesn't like her boss much. Dante is arrogant and rude, but the two have sexual chemistry and fall into bed on a business trip. Afterward, they try to go their separate ways, but fate keeps throwing them together.
I actually liked Dante once I got past his rudeness and I though he and Cleo are a great pairing. Their backgrounds make them a great couple and it's nice to see them discover that as the story proceeds. The storyline itself was a little predictable, but the author handles it well and gives a few new twists to make it interesting. I have enjoyed all her books so now I must wait for the next one. ( )
